United Negotiation

Focus on job security; talks continuing April 20–24

Rich Delaney — We have begun outlining our positions on some issues, as has the company. The tone of the talks has been positive to this point and we are hopeful we can begin reaching understandings on these items as we make our way towards a complete tentative agreement that will address the concerns our members have given us.

Although we are extremely early in the overall negotiating process we are focusing on each subject in the way our members have told us is important to them – securing jobs and improving the wages and benefits of those jobs. I encourage you to visit our web site and review the opening proposals of both the IAM and United Airlines so you become familiar with the issues and, in some cases, the opposing positions both sides have.

We will return to the bargaining table the week of April 20th. We thank you for your support and involvement during this period of negotiations.
