Sharon Terman, San Francisco Legal Aid Social attorney, explains to Local Lodge 1781 stewards our rights under the Family Medical Leave Act, California Family Rights Act, Paid Disability Leave and other legislation protecting workers. Sharon appeared on August 8, 2007, as part of our monthly steward training classes.

Stephen Rice, chair of Local Lodge 1781 Safety Committee, gave a very interesting class to Lodge stewards on Wednesday, February 14, 2007, covering basic OSHA safety standards and "How Stewards Investigate Accidents".

US Federal Mediator Ruth Carpenter (L) receives an IAM watch as a token of appreciation from Debbie Escobosa, chair, Local Lodge 1781 Steward Committee. Ms. Carpenter presented a lively and thought-provoking class to IAM stewards on March 14, 2007, explaining how mediators determine 'just cause' principles of Company discipline.
